The Loring Commerce Centre, managed by the Loring Development Authority of Maine (LDA), includes about 8,700 acres of land, 2.8 million square feet of facility space and a 12,100 foot runway capable of handling the world's largest aircraft. Industries suitable for Loring were identified by an extensive Target Industry Market Study and an Aviation Task Force Study and include agriculture/food processing; forest products; information based companies; large space users; transportation distribution; aircraft maintenance; repair & overhaul (MRO); air cargo operations and other niche markets.

Loring Development Authority of Maine

The LDA is an independent authority of the State of Maine, created by an act of the 116th Maine State Legislature on July 13, 1993. The LDA's mission is to acquire, manage and develop properties within the geographical boundaries of the former Loring Air Force Base, now known as the Loring Commerce Centre. New businesses on Loring have created over 1,000 new job opportunities in serveral industries and occupy approximately 1.6 million square feet of space. The LDA continues to market the remaining real estate available on Loring including approximately 1.2 million square feet of building space and hundreds of acres of open space that have municipal and utility infastructures in place and are ready for new construction.
